Payment Card Interchange Fee Settlement

The Payment Card Settlement is a historic $5.54 billion antitrust class-action settlement that will provide some relief for millions of U.S. merchants after years of paying allegedly inflated Visa and Mastercard interchange fees.

Who is part of this settlement?

All persons, businesses and other entities that accepted Visa and Mastercard anytime from January 1, 2004, through January 25, 2019.

What you need to know about claim submissions

  1. CHS will file claims on behalf of merchants who processed payments with CHS during the class period (January 1, 2004, through January 25, 2019).
  2. If you received a form in the mail, it may be that you processed payments with another company during the class period.
  3. If you believe you processed payments with another company but did not receive a form, please contact the claim administrator.
  4. Be aware that if you processed payment with companies other than CHS, 3rd parties may contact you offering to submit the claim on your behalf for a percentage of your settlement payment.
    • Whether or not to use a 3rd party is your choice; however, the claim filing process can be very easily completed on your own.
