CHS Payment Solutions has worked with NBS to approve software version 204 for the VX 520.

The latest release fixes potential double charges on transactions where a credit card was pulled out of the terminal before prompted.

On previous VX 520 software versions, in some cases, when a card was pulled before prompted, the transaction appeared to fail, which led to the cashier to run the transaction again. However, the first transaction had gone through, so a duplicate charge occurred. Version 204 ensures if a card is pulled too early, the transaction that appeared to fail will not go through.

At this time, there are no new software expirations for the VX 520.

Regular software upgrades help fulfill requirement 6 of the PCI standard (develop and maintain secure systems and applications).
