Gasboy Update
Based on information learned from the Gasboy Islander Plus and CFN Plus (both known as Gasboy PLUS) equipment manufacturer, neither of these platforms are able to support EMV transactions. Gasboy is currently developing alternative solutions with the intent of supporting EMV transactions in the future.
For the Gasboy Islander PLUS platform, Gasboy has announced the new Islander PRIME solution for customers wishing to upgrade to EMV capabilities. Although the Islander PRIME terminal is already available, it is important to note that this device does not support EMV at this time because updated hardware and software have not been released.
Because CHS Payment Solutions has not been able to test EMV hardware or software for the Islander PRIME, we cannot yet recommend this hardware as the EMV solution for Gasboy customers. We are actively working with Gasboy as they develop this solution, and will communicate any updates once software has been released and fully tested.
If your location is using the Gasboy CFN Plus solution with Gilbarco dispensers equipped with card readers, Gasboy recommends migration to Gilbarco’s Passport POS System. Gilbarco Passport supports both outdoor and indoor EMV transactions. At this point, there are no recommendations for Gasboy CFN PLUS users with Wayne dispensers equipped with card readers.
Please note that outdoor EMV is not a required payment method in order to process credit cards through CHS Payment Solutions. However, as of April 2021 any fraudulent transactions that occur outdoors on non-EMV payment terminals will not receive fraud protection either from CHS or from the various card brands.
