As spring turns to summer and outdoor cleaning projects begin, CHS Payment Solutions would like to remind merchants to regularly clean their Card Readers in Dispensers (CRINDs). Regular cleaning of CRINDs will help to ensure equipment remains in proper working order.

Please see below for recommended cleaning frequency:

• Magstripe Reader (MSR) Head:
  Should be cleaned no more than once per day, and no less than twice per week.
• Chip/EMV contacts internal to reader:
  Should be cleaned no more than twice a month, and no less than once a month.

Please note, the above are only CHS Payment Solutions recommendations. Card reader cleaning schedules could vary depending on usage, weather, or environmental conditions.
