Daylight Saving Time Reminder

Winter is fast approaching, which means Daylight Saving Time is officially over. By now you’ve already updated the time on your personal watches and clocks, but did you also remember to update the clock on your Point of Sale (POS) equipment? It’s important to make this update to ensure your location meets the Payment Application requirement (4.3.3) and the PCI requirement (10.3.3), which state the POS must record transaction date and time.

These requirements state that the payment application point of sale must record the transaction date and time, and the card brands require that your point of sale maintains an accurate transaction date and time. Doing this in a timely fashion ensures you meet these requirements, but it is also important as consumers have the right to dispute any transactions that do not show the correct date and time of their purchase on their receipt.
