Clean card readers regularly to support reliable pump transactions
CHS Payment Solutions reminds merchants to regularly clean Card Readers in Dispensers, commonly known as CRINDs. Routine cleaning can help keep equipment in proper working order and support a smoother payment experience for customers.
Recommended CRIND cleaning frequency includes:
- Magstripe Reader (MSR) head:
Clean no more than once per day and no less than twice per week. - Chip/EMV contacts internal to reader:
Clean no more than twice per month and no less than once per month.
