Product Codes Reminder

A product code is a three-digit number that is used to identify a product/service sold during a transaction. These codes are set by Conexxus and assist in calculating correct transaction amounts. When merchants use general or incorrect product codes, there is potential for transactional issues to occur. Using correct codes will assist in limiting chargebacks.

Mapping the product codes in your Point of Sale (POS) system vary between manufacturers.  If you have product code mapping questions, please contact the appropriate parties per your Point of Sale (POS) system.

Gilbarco Note:

Please note, recently, CHS Payment Solutions was made aware of an issue with Gilbarco product code descriptions not matching the Conexxus codes. For example, code 042 should be labeled as Regular Ethanol, but in the Gilbarco POS it is listed as Undefined Fuel. It is important to note, the product code (042) is what matters. Even if the description (Undefined Fuel) does not match the code, you should be using the codes set by Conexxus. For this example, your Point of Sale should be set to 042 for Regular Ethanol, even though the product description says Undefined Fuel. If you have a specific product code you would like to check for accuracy, please contact CHS Payment Solutions.

If you have additional questions about product codes, please contact your POS manufacturer, ASC or CHS Payment Solutions at 800-852-5301.
