Verifone Commander / POS Upgrade Program available through July 31
With upcoming POS upgrades tied to Verifone Base 56+, now is the time for merchants to act. Verifone is offering a limited-time rebate program through July 31 that provides substantial savings on Commander and C18 upgrades, helping offset the cost of modernization. Payment Solutions is working through timing on a Base 57 Approval and all Topaz 410, Ruby2, RubyCI, and Ruby2 iOrder POS will have to be replaced in order to move to the approved version.
Commander Base 57 approval timeline
CHS Payment Solutions is slated to begin testing Base 57 end of July this year. Upon the approval of 57, CHS Payment Solutions will be expiring all previous versions of Commander site controller software and initiate a six-month Software Expiration on all previous approved versions.
Merchants using any of the End-of-Life hardware systems will be unable to upgrade to 57 or any software releases thereafter. CHS Payment Solutions does not recommend acquiring any of the hardware systems moving forward due to their short remaining lifespan.

Upgrade now to stay ahead of Verifone changes
Significant POS updates are on the horizon with Verifone Base 56+, making this an important time for merchants to plan ahead. Through July 31, Verifone is offering a limited-time rebate program on Commander and C18 upgrades—helping reduce the cost of upgrading your site.
At the same time, CHS Payment Solutions is preparing for Base 57 approval, which will require replacement of older systems including:

- Ruby2
- RubyCI
- Ruby2 iOrder

What to expect next

Merchants using end-of-life hardware will not be able to upgrade to Base 57 or future versions. For this reason, CHS strongly advises against investing in these systems moving forward.
