Pinnacle Palm POS Commander EF
As previously communicated, CHS and Pinnacle have been working to develop the Palm POS Commander EF solution to support EMV transactions at the dispenser. The software version for Commander EF, v12.8.1, will be available beginning in August 2021. As a follow up to previous communications, the Commander EF solution will include non-local card patronage tracking. The transition to Commander EF involves several steps, including:
- Establishing a Pinnacle maintenance program
- Ordering new hardware
- Establishing a Verifone ASM/HD
- Implementing software
Please click here to view the details on these necessary steps that must be taken to implement Commander EF.
The first and most timely step that must be taken to ensure you are ready to implement outdoor EMV transactions with Commander EF is establishing a new software maintenance program directly with Pinnacle. This new maintenance program will replace the Pinnacle and Allied software maintenance fees currently billed on the CHS Payment Solutions monthly merchant statement and provide access to upcoming EMV software releases. Because support on Allied NeXGen forecourt controllers will end on September 1, 2021 through CHS, transitioning to the new program will also ensure continued support of your forecourt controller once you have upgraded to the new Commander EF hardware platform.
In addition to the software maintenance program change, there will also be a change to how equipment is ordered. Moving forward, your Pinnacle ASC will handle all Palm hardware equipment orders. CHS Retail Image and Equipment will no longer sell Pinnacle Palm hardware directly. If you would like a list of authorized Pinnacle ASC’s in your area, please contact Ben Duff at 817-993-9206 or bduff@pinncorp.com.
If you have questions regarding the changes outlined above, please refer to the hyperlinked document above, contact CHS Payment Solutions at 800-852-5301, or reach out to your Pinnacle ASC.
