Did You Spring Forward Your POS System?

After a long winter, Daylight Savings Time is finally here. You’ve already sprung forward your watch and the clock in your car, don’t forget to also spring forward the time in your Point of Sale equipment! It’s important to make this update to ensure your location meets the Payment Application requirement (4.3.3) and the PCI requirement (10.3.3).

These requirements state that the payment application point of sale must record the transaction date and time, and the card brands require that your point of sale maintains an accurate transaction date and time. Doing this in a timely fashion ensures you meet these requirements, but it is also important as consumers have the right to dispute any transactions that do not show the correct date and time of their purchase on their receipt.
