Provide a secondary host address to avoid credit card processing delays
To keep credit card processing running smoothly, your point-of-sale (POS) system should be configured with both primary and secondary credit card host addresses. These addresses are used to determine which data center the POS should send credit card data to for processing.
Why configure two host addresses
When the primary data center becomes unavailable, transactions are automatically sent to the secondary host address provided. If a secondary address is not configured, your location will be unable to process credit cards until the primary data center is restored.
