Ingenico ISC250 End of Life Reminder

As has been previously communicated, the Ingenico ISC250 PIN pad has reached its end of life. While Ingenico will continue to support this device, once Gilbarco software version 21.01 is installed, the ISC250 will no longer be supported by Gilbarco. CHS Payment Solutions is planning to certify Gilbarco v21.01 for release in Q2 of 2021, with installation required six months after the release date.

In accordance with PCI compliance requirements, the Ingenico ISC250 must be replaced with the Verifone MX915, version 4.0. The MX915 can be purchased through your Authorized Service Contractor (ASC). To assist in purchasing these new PIN pads, CHS will be offering technology rebates. In order to qualify for technology rebates, PIN pads must be ordered by 8/31/21, and installed by 12/31/21.

Verifone VX 520 Thermal Receipt Paper Distributor

Last year, CHS Payment Solutions announced a new VX 520 thermal receipt paper vendor. As a reminder, all thermal receipt paper for the VX 520 should now be purchased through CHS Energy Equipment. Thermal receipt paper is sold in packs of 10 and 50 rolls. To order, please contact CHS Energy Equipment at 800-852-8186, option 1.

Please note, the thermal receipt paper noted above is meant for handheld Verifone VX 520 devices (pictured to the right).

Triple E Software Upgrade, One Month Left

On October 14, CHS Payment Solutions mailed a letter to general managers informing them that the software upgrade deadline for Triple E v5.331 had been extended. The software upgrade deadline for v5.331 is now December 14, 2020. With one month left until software expiration, Triple E Authorized Service Contractors (ASC) are beginning to book up. Coordinate installations with your local ASC now to ensure upgrade deadlines are met.

 As a reminder, if the December 14, 2020 deadline to install v5.331 is missed, a $250 out of date software fee per month will be assessed. Please review the original announcement for further details.

Required PaySafe Hardware Upgrade

In an effort to equip merchants with the most up-to-date and secure PaySafe hardware, ControlScan, in partnership with CHS Payment Solutions, has been working the last few months to upgrade the hardware for PaySafe firewalls in the field.

All firewalls will be upgraded to the latest Cradlepoint hardware (pictured to the right).

In the coming weeks, all locations still needing an upgrade will receive a call from ControlScan to coordinate the shipment of new PaySafe hardware. Once your new PaySafe arrives, please reach out to the ControlScan help desk at 800-393-3246 and select Option 1, then Option 2 to complete the install. The install should take less than 10 minutes. There will be no cost associated with the new PaySafe model, and you will be shipped everything needed in order to complete.

Locations will have 30 days from equipment arrival to swap out the old hardware for the new. If, after 30 days, locations have not swapped out and returned the old PaySafe to ControlScan, monthly PaySafe charges will double and accounts will be charged $300 for the non-returned PaySafe device. Additionally, double PaySafe charges will continue until hardware has been swapped out and returned to ControlScan.

Update Your POS Clock

Winter is fast approaching, which means Daylight Saving Time is officially over. By now you’ve already updated the time on your personal watches and clocks, but did you also remember to update the clock on your Point of Sale (POS) equipment? It’s important to make this update to ensure your location meets the Payment Application requirement (4.3.3) and the PCI requirement (10.3.3), which state the POS must record transaction date and time.

These requirements state that the payment application point of sale must record the transaction date and time, and the card brands require that your point of sale maintains an accurate transaction date and time. Doing this in a timely fashion ensures you meet these requirements, but it is also important as consumers have the right to dispute any transactions that do not show the correct date and time of their purchase on their receipt. If you need assistance updating the clock on your POS, please contact your POS service technician or equipment manufacturer.
